  • Start with the Tadasana pose, which means standing still and observe your breath.
  • Lock your feet against the ground; they should be firm.
  • Now keep your weight on both legs and feet width apart, arms on either side of the body.
  • Now shift your weight onto your left leg and lift your right foot.
  • Keeping the left foot locked and tough, sole your right foot on the left thigh.
  • When you gain a complete balance position, bring your hands towards your chest and make Anjali Mudra or the joint hand position.
  • Optionally, with inhalation, you can also raise your hands above your head. It will also help in gaining more balance.
  • You can hold this position for 30 seconds, and also gaze at the fixed point in front of you.
  • With exhalation, release your pose, release your right leg and repeat the same procedure for your left leg.

Vrikshasana is a steady pose, and a beginner can also perform this pose with grace. Try to practice regular yoga to make every pose firm for yourself.
