The Ayurvedic Massage Course Syllabus
We divide the ayurvedic massage class into 7 days. The course syllabus is the following;
Day 1
On day 1 you will learn an introduction to Ayurveda. Also, learn about Abhyagam full body massage treatment that include,
- Shiro Abhyanga – Learning to perform and apply various oils in Ayurvedic head massage, with practical training.
- Pada Abhyanga – Understanding the art and applying Ayurvedic oils in foot massage, with practical training.
Day 2
On day 2 you will learn the five elements theory that include;
- Sarvanga Abhyanga (full body massage) – Learning the movements of the hands, pressure points, and working of the body, which is one of the major aspects of the lesson.
- Introduction to Herbal Oils – The use of various oils depending on the dosha. An Ayurvedic massage course helps you learn ancient methods to relax and detoxify the body.
Day 3
- Mudras – Learning the art of gestures.
- Use of Tridosha Overview – General description of the tridosha principle.
- Shirodhara Therapy – Study of the equipment and the manner in which the treatment is performed.
Day 4
- Agni Tatva (Fire Element in Body) – Learning the digestive system and how to enhance it.
- Basti Treatment Therapy – Preparation and management of Basti (Janubasti).
Day 5
Prakrutsha – Knowledge of body type.
Swedana Therapies (Steam Treatments) – These therapies are used in the treatment of pain, inflammation, and spondylitis.
- Patra Potli – A massage bolus composed of the leaves of certain plants that contain anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties.
- Valuka Swedana – Sand bolus fomentation.
- Shalashaska Swedana.
Day 6
- Diet & Lifestyle Management – Understanding the importance of lifestyle and what you eat.
- Churna Pinda Swedana – A treatment where a potli is made using herbal powder to treat particular conditions.
- Bhaya Swedana – Bathing with and using external body steam.
Day 7
- Practical Time – Practice the Ayurvedic therapies that you acquired in the course.
- Ayurvedic Massage – Ayurvedic massage course in Rishikesh.
